The craft

From cleft to cover drive.

Every MBR bat starts as a raw cleft of English willow and leaves as a blade built for one player: you.

  1. 1

Book an appointment for a bat fitting

Come in and sit down with the maker. We'll chat through your game — your style, the format you play, where you bat and the pickup weight that feels right in your hands. Custom bats are made by appointment; pre-made bats and the rest of our gear you can simply buy online.

  2. 2

    Hand-picked cleft

We go through our imported English willow and hand-pick the cleft for your bat — choosing the grain, the ping and the character that suit the way you play.

  3. 3

Customised willow — pressed & shaped

Your willow is pressed and shaped by hand, just for you. The sweet spot, the edges and the spine are all worked to your spec — no two bats leave the bench the same.

  4. 4

    Free knock-in & your stickers

Every MBR bat gets a free knock-in, machine and by hand. You also pick the sticker design that makes it yours — applied carefully before it ships.

  5. 5

    Match ready

We hand it over ready to use. Give it a couple of net sessions with an old ball to settle it in, and then take it out and start scoring runs. We're here for feedback and repairs for the life of the bat.

Our story

From Pokhara to Geelong.

It started beneath the Annapurnas in Nepal, sharpened through Sydney grade cricket — including a Sydney Thunder Community Championship at Spotless Stadium — and settled into a Geelong workshop in 2016. What began as founder Raj Gurung fixing mates' bats became a craft: building blades matched to the player, not the shelf.

“A store-bought bat fits everyone. A custom bat fits you.”
